The Neuroscience of Candid Camera

Smile, you're on Candid Camera! Hidden-camera show "Candid Camera" first hit the air in the 1940s, and versions of the show have played in every decade since. It turns out that there is brain science behind the laughs. 

Back in 1962, Candid Camera aired an episode titled Face the Rear. “Face the Rear” demonstrated how quickly a basic social norm (how people stand in an elevator) could be reversed using the power of group conformity. And it happens all the time in group work settings and it’s a dangerous way to make decisions.
